# CourtPulse and Playtomic Manager: companion, not replacement

> Playtomic Manager runs your club day to day. CourtPulse sits on top of it with a read-only connection and adds long-term history, hourly occupancy heatmaps, payout reconciliation, alerts and scheduled PDF reports.

This is not an either/or decision. Playtomic Manager is where you take bookings, set prices, manage courts and talk to players — CourtPulse never replaces any of that and cannot, because its connection is read-only.

The question is whether the reporting you already get inside Playtomic Manager answers the questions you ask about the business. If you regularly export data to a spreadsheet to answer them, that gap is what CourtPulse is built to close.

## At a glance

| Capability | CourtPulse | Playtomic Manager reports |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Taking bookings, pricing, court setup | Not offered — CourtPulse is read-only by design. | Yes — this is what Playtomic Manager is for. |
| Long-term history | Keeps every synced booking, player and payment permanently, so history grows past Playtomic's API retention window. | Depends on what Playtomic retains and exposes for your account — check how far back your reports go. |
| Occupancy by hour × weekday × court | Heatmaps in each venue's own time zone, filterable by court and sport. | Check which occupancy views your Manager plan includes; many clubs export to build this themselves. |
| Payout and commission reconciliation | Matches payments to bookings and shows what was paid out versus what was booked. | Payment records are available; reconciliation is usually a manual exercise. |
| Threshold alerts by email | Rules on revenue, occupancy, cancellations and more, checked after every sync. | Not a reporting focus — check your plan for notification options. |
| Scheduled PDF reports for partners | Weekly and monthly PDFs generated and emailed automatically. | Typically built by hand from exports. |
| Several clubs in one view | Unlimited venues on one plan, with portfolio-wide totals. | Depends on how your venues are set up in Playtomic. |

## When the alternative is enough

- You run a single club and the built-in reports already answer your weekly questions.
- You only need operational views (today's bookings, who's playing) rather than trends.
- Nobody outside the club needs a report from you.

## When CourtPulse fits

- You export from Playtomic to a spreadsheet more than once a month.
- You want history that does not stop at a retention window.
- Partners or investors expect a regular performance report.
- You manage more than one venue and want them side by side.

## Verdict

Keep Playtomic Manager — you need it to run the club. Add CourtPulse when the analysis you do outside Playtomic starts costing you hours every month.

## FAQ

**Does CourtPulse replace Playtomic Manager?**

No. CourtPulse reads your data through Playtomic's API with read-only credentials. Bookings, pricing and court management stay in Playtomic Manager.

**Is CourtPulse affiliated with Playtomic?**

No. CourtPulse is an independent product that uses the API credentials Playtomic lets venue owners create under Settings → Developer tools.

**Will I see the same numbers in both?**

Revenue and booking counts come from the same source data, so totals should line up. Differences usually come from time zones, date-range boundaries or how canceled bookings are counted — CourtPulse documents each definition in its glossary.

**What happens to my data if I cancel CourtPulse?**

Your Playtomic data is untouched. Anything CourtPulse synced can be exported as CSV before you leave.
