Average Booking Value
The average revenue generated per booking, calculated by dividing total revenue by the number of bookings.
Overview
Average booking value (ABV) tells you how much revenue each booking generates on average. It's influenced by court pricing, booking duration, and the mix of sports and time slots.
ABV can vary significantly between peak and off-peak hours, between sports (padel courts often command higher prices than tennis), and between booking types (recurring bookings may have discounts).
Tracking ABV over time reveals whether your pricing strategy is effective. A rising ABV with stable booking volume means you're capturing more value without losing demand.
Formula
Average Booking Value = Total Revenue ÷ Total Number of BookingsExample
Your venue generated €15,000 from 600 bookings last month. Average booking value is €15,000 ÷ 600 = €25 per booking.
Why it matters
ABV helps you understand pricing effectiveness. If ABV is declining while bookings are stable, you may be discounting too aggressively. If ABV is rising but bookings are falling, your prices may be too high. It's a key lever for revenue optimisation.
