Revenue Per Court

The total revenue generated by a single court over a given period, used to compare court performance.

Revenue per court is calculated by dividing total booking revenue by the number of courts, or by tracking revenue for each individual court separately. The second approach is more useful because it reveals performance differences.

Courts can generate different revenue for many reasons: location within the facility, surface type, size, lighting quality, or simply player preference. Understanding these differences helps optimise pricing and scheduling.

This metric is especially useful for multi-court venues deciding where to invest in upgrades or whether to convert courts between sports.

Formula

Revenue Per Court = Total Revenue ÷ Number of Courts (aggregate) or sum of bookings × price for each court (individual)

Example

A venue with 4 padel courts generates €12,000 in a month. Average revenue per court is €3,000. But Court 1 generates €4,200 while Court 4 only generates €1,800 — a significant difference worth investigating.

Why it matters

Revenue per court helps you identify under-performing assets. A court generating significantly less revenue might need better lighting, a surface upgrade, or different pricing. It's a key metric for capital allocation decisions.
